Delhi Airport Viral Video: Passengers Eating & Sleeping on Floor Sparks Outrage
Viral video from Delhi's Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport - Terminal 3 shows passengers eating, sleeping, and spreading bedsheets on floors. The clip has sparked outrage and concerns over security as well as civic sense.
Delhi’s IGI Airport or a Railway Station?
Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport is making headlines for all the wrong reasons. A viral video has emerged on the internet showing passengers spreading bedsheets, eating, and even sleeping on the floor. The scene is more reminiscent of a crowded Indian railway station, which has sparked an online debate. People are now questioning not just the chaos, but also what airport security and management have been doing, as people turned Delhi airport, the ninth busiest airport in the world by passenger traffic, into a railway station.
Terminal 3 Turns Picnic Ground?
The footage that has gone viral on social media sees a lot of people spreading bedsheets on the floor, like they would in a park on a picnic. While some of them are enjoying meals, others are seen eating while they apparently wait for their flights. Is Delhi airport not offering enough space and amenities for passengers? Or is it just lack of civic sense?
Netizens Slam Airport Security and Civic Sense
"Wtf is airport security doing?... Kick the butts out of them and fine their ungrateful faces," one of the users slammed. "Should this be allowed? Or no harm as people are just making themselves comfortable, maybe a longish gap in connecting flight, so okay?" asked another one. "Be it railway station, bus station, or international airport - no one knows what's obsession these low IQ Hindus & Muslims have with sitting on the floor and eating Paratha Achaar," read another comment.
This is today’s video of Indira Gandhi International AirPort Delhi Terminal-3 . I saw the same scene 4–5 years ago and was shocked—is this really an airport? How can @CISFAirport @GMRaerocity @delhiairport allow this nonsense to continue? pic.twitter.com/OJ9ZNT3M9W

Some users pointed out that the problem runs deeper than just eating and sleeping on the floor. One wrote, "This is just the outside picture. You should have a look at the washrooms — people washing legs in basins meant for hands, offering prayers in waiting areas. The scene is no better than a bus terminal."
As the video continues to stir debate online, there has been no official statement from Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) or CISF, which handles airport security. For now, the clip has sparked an uncomfortable conversation: should the airport authorities be responsible or do passengers themselves need to act more responsibly?
