Since its opening in 2016, Bastian has been famous for its sophisticated multi-level interiors, artistic ambiance, and seafood-led menu, complemented by a selection of vegetarian and meat dishes. The Bandra branch was renovated in 2023, introducing a new and refined atmosphere that left it one of the go-to dining places in Mumbai.

Arcane Affair and Bastian At The Top: Continuing the Legacy
In tribute to the iconic space, the restaurant is organizing a special night for its most loyal patrons—a night of nostalgia, vibrancy, and celebration. While Bastian Bandra shuts shop, its Thursday night tradition Arcane Affair will find a new home at the second venue, Bastian At The Top, on the 48th-floor rooftop of Kohinoor Square in Dadar West, continuing the tradition in a new chapter with new experiences.
Legal Controversy: Raj Kundra and Shilpa Shetty Charged
The shutdown is amidst simmering legal controversy. Shilpa Shetty and her husband, Raj Kundra, are charged with cheating more than Rs 60 crore in a loan-cum-investment arrangement from 2015 to 2023, lodged by Mumbai businessman Deepak Kothari. The charges pertain to their now-banned company, Best Deal TV Pvt Ltd, and investment money being used for personal expenses.
Lawyer's Statement: Charges Deemed 'Baseless'
The couple’s lawyer, Prashant Patil, has called the allegations “baseless and malicious,” clarifying that the matter is purely civil in nature and had already been adjudicated by the NCLT Mumbai. Patil added that all relevant documents, including detailed cash flow statements, have been submitted to the Economic Offences Wing (EOW), and legal action is being pursued against those spreading false claims.
