Actor Rajat Bedi, best known for his antagonist role as Raj Saxena in Koi Mil Gaya, recently addressed a controversy surrounding his old statements about moving to Canada. Rajat Bedi Breaks Silence: Misquoted Interview, Canada Move & Bollywood Comeback

The Misquoted Interview

The controversy started with a 2023 interview with Mukesh Khanna, where Rajat spoke about his early career, his work in Koi Mil Gaya, and his move to Canada. “In an interview, I told him that I moved to Canada after Koi Mil Gaya’s release. But he used my statement to generate views, suggesting I left because I was sidelined in the promotions. That was very wrong,” Rajat explained. He emphasized his strong bond with filmmaker Rakesh Roshan, expressing deep respect for the director.

Rajat recalled how Rakesh often guided actors by enacting scenes himself, ensuring the cast understood every nuance. “I was with Rakesh ji a week before the interview came out,” he said, pointing out that the viral narrative suggesting a fallout was entirely false.

Financial Realities Behind Canada Move

While Rajat achieved fame with Koi Mil Gaya and other Bollywood films, financial stability was lacking. “I had films, I had fame, but I needed to sustain my family. That’s why I made the move to Canada,” he explained. During his stay in Vancouver, he tried real estate, but the venture did not take off. The experience, however, gave him perspective and helped him plan a successful return to India.

Career Journey and Comeback

Rajat Bedi began his career in 1998 with 2001: Do Hazaar Ek, followed by several supporting roles. Koi Mil Gaya in 2003 marked a turning point, establishing him as a memorable antagonist alongside Hrithik Roshan and Preity Zinta. Over the years, he appeared in more than 40 films, including Rakht, Khamoshh… Khauff Ki Raat, and Rocky – The Rebel, as well as popular television shows like Kasautii Zindagii Kay and Aahat.

Facing limited Bollywood opportunities, he relocated to Canada but returned with renewed determination. With the recent success of The Ba***ds of Bollywood, Rajat is enjoying a successful second innings, proving that talent and perseverance can overcome early setbacks.

Standing Tall Despite Controversy

Despite the viral misquoting and online buzz, Rajat remains focused on his craft. “It’s disappointing when words are twisted for views,” he said, “but I’m happy to be back doing what I love and to be recognized for my work.”

From early Bollywood challenges to international experiences and now a celebrated return, Rajat Bedi’s journey is a story of resilience, professionalism, and enduring talent. His story reminds fans and industry insiders alike that true success comes from dedication, context, and passion, not headlines.
