Ahan Shetty Talks Nepotism, Family Legacy, and Future Bollywood Ventures
Bollywood star Ahan Shetty, son of veteran star Suniel Shetty, recently opened up about the double lives of being a star kid in the Bollywood world. But that also means there are higher expectations and each fall is amplified. I know every success on my part reflects on the name he's worked so hard to build, and every failure is weighed down even more. I try to use both as fuel to work harder, to prove that I’m not just here because of my last name."
Instead of considering his father's legacy as a weight, Ahan treats it as direction. "His history is something that I can learn from, not something that oppresses me. I've discovered a way to stop taking that burden and begin to recognize it as guidance," he clarified. This broad-minded attitude indicates that he wants to create a career on his own terms yet pay respect to his family's legacy.
Bollywood Debut: Tadap
Ahan entered Bollywood in 2021 with Tadap, sharing screen space with Tara Sutaria. The film, directed by Milan Luthria and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, marked the debut of Ahan as a bright new face in Bollywood. His performance spoke volumes for the benefits both of his training and family background and his individual motivation to establish himself on his own merit.
Future Projects: Border 2 and Horror Movie
In the pipeline for Ahan is two exciting ventures. He will feature in Border 2, a patriotic drama helmed by Anurag Singh and releasing on January 22, 2026. Reviving JP Dutta's cult classic Border (1997), the movie boasts a star-laden cast featuring Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, and Diljit Dosanjh.
Apart from that, Ahan has also committed to a new horror movie by Patrick Graham, the man behind Netflix successes Ghoul and Betaal. With this film, Ahan is venturing out of his drama and action genre comfort zone, trying new genres, and proving his versatility as a young Bollywood actor.

Ahan Shetty's insights demonstrate a reflective attitude towards his profession. Though he credits his father's name for the opportunities provided, he insists on creating his own identity, using every adversity as an incentive.
